One blogger made a very interesting topic, The Dilemma With The Phrase, ‘I Love You To The Moon And Back’ by Lucy Wickham.
The blogger started questioning “Why the moon? Why not the sun? Why not some planet such as Pluto or Mars?”
I stop right there and think... is this a valid question? I start to ponder, yes why the moon? The answer is easy. The farthest humans have physically traveled from Earth is the Moon and made a successful comeback alive!
If you replace the moon with the sun, “I love you to the sun and back”, sounds like an empty promise. There’s no way you can make it to the sun and back without being bbq-ed!
How about Pluto or Mars? Mars is the closest replacement to the moon, but not until 2030+ as per NASA. That’s the plan but no exact date yet people on when they will set foot on Mars. Until then, the Moon is still valid.
